A resource guide for book lovers on a budget—no subscription required!
If you were to see the abundance of books on my shelves, you’d know how much I love to read. (I try to donate a few to the public library every year—but somehow they keep multiplying!) What you can’t see is my overflowing digital bookshelf—full of Kindle books and eBooks I’ve picked up over the years.
Even with hundreds of titles already in my library, I’m always on the lookout for a good deal—especially for books on my ever-growing TBR (to-be-read) list. Thankfully, there are still several websites offering free or deeply discounted Christian eBooks, including both fiction and nonfiction.
While free titles aren’t quite as abundant as they used to be, there are still plenty of hidden gems out there. Whether you’re into devotionals, historical fiction, or Christian living, these websites can help you stock your eReader without emptying your wallet.
Free Christian eBooks from Major Retailers

Amazon’s Kindle store updates a daily list of the top 100 free Christian eBooks. You’ll find fiction, devotionals, classics, and even study guides. No Kindle required—just use the free Kindle app on your phone or tablet.
Barnes & Noble (Nook)
If you have a Nook or use their free app, Barnes & Noble offers a variety of free eBooks in the Religion section. Browse by category to find Christian titles across genres.
Curated Free or Bargain Christian eBooks
These websites gather daily and weekly deals on Christian titles—many of which are time-limited. Consider signing up for email alerts to receive updates based on your reading preferences.
Christianbook.com
Long known for homeschool and Bible study resources, Christianbook.com also has a page of free Christian eBooks—including fiction, devotionals, and even some children’s titles. You’ll also find great deals on printed books and gifts, with occasional free shipping offers.
Book Bub
BookBub is one of the most popular eBook deal sites. After creating a free account, you can select genres you like—including Christian Fiction or Christian Nonfiction. Check out their page with free Christian eBooks or sign up to a daily email with handpicked free or low-cost eBooks (many under $2.99), tailored to your preferences.
Early Bird Books
Like BookBub, Early Bird Books offers limited-time eBook deals across genres, including Christian nonfiction and inspirational titles. You can choose your preferred eBook retailer (Amazon, Apple, Nook, etc.) when you sign up for emails.
NetGalley
If you’re a book reviewer, blogger, or have a social media platform where you recommend books, NetGalley offers free advanced reader copies (ARCs) of upcoming Christian books. You can request titles before they’re published, or download past releases for review. Approval is not guaranteed, but the more you review, the more opportunities you’ll receive.
Christian-Focused eBook Deals
Faithful Reads
Faithful Reads is updated daily with free and bargain Christian eBooks. You’ll find books by popular authors as well as self-published titles from newer voices. No account required, but you can subscribe to their daily email.
Gospel eBooks
Strictly focused on Christian books, Gospel eBooks updates deals daily—many are under $4.99 and occasionally completely free. You can browse by category, such as devotionals, theology, or Christian living.
Bibles Net
This site offers classic Christian works from authors like Charles Spurgeon, Watchman Nee, D.L. Moody, and more. These are free to download in PDF format—perfect if you enjoy timeless Christian writings or want to study from them on your computer or tablet
Bonus: Mardel
If you love Hobby Lobby, you’ll probably love Mardel, its sister store focused on faith, education, and books. While not a digital book source, Mardel often offers in-store and online discounts on Bibles, devotionals, and Christian fiction. Worth browsing if you have one nearby—or love a good sale.
Whether you’re trying to grow your faith library, dive into a new devotional, or just looking for something uplifting to read, these resources are a great place to start. Happy reading—and may your eReader be ever full (and your TBR list slightly shorter)!
What to remember:
Always double-check the price before downloading. eBook deals can expire quickly, often within 24 hours. If it’s not marked $0.00, it’s not free!
You don’t need a Kindle device—free apps from Amazon, Nook, Apple Books, or Google Play allow you to read on your phone, tablet, or computer.
Most of these sites are free to use and don’t require a subscription. Some are Amazon affiliates, meaning they may earn a small commission when you make a purchase—but that doesn’t affect your price!
