15 Bible Verses for Spring: God’s Creation, Renewal and Abundant Life

One of the blessings of relocating to Kansas is that spring remains far longer than what we are used to. Back in Central Texas, early March was peak springtime—the bluebonnets were in full bloom (see photo below), but by April, the temperatures climbed quickly to the 80s.

In Topeka, daytime temperatures range from a pleasant 50 to 70 degrees, making it perfect for spending time outdoors. This past week, I’ve started taking walks with my husband through the local streets and park, soaking in the beauty of tree blossoms (photos below), daffodils, tulips, wild violets, and all the vibrant colors of spring gardens.

Having spent 25 years in Central Texas, I didn’t realize how much I had missed a “traditional” spring until moving to eastern Kansas. Growing up in Michigan, spring was filled with familiar sights and sounds—red-breasted robins, soft rain showers, and soft green grass under my feet. Now, in Kansas, I’m rediscovering those simple joys, and it feels a bit like coming home.

I’m reminded of how often Scripture speaks of renewal, growth, and new beginnings. Just as God invites us to enjoy the newness of spring, He also calls us to experience new life through Christ. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we are renewed and redeemed — a beautiful reflection of His grace and love.

The flowers appear on the earth,
the time of singing has come.

For by Him all things were created,
in heaven and on earth.

and His mercy is over all that He has made.
Psalm 145:9

His praise in the assembly of the godly.
Psalm 149:1
