“Fearless in 21 Days” has been on my “to read” list since its release. Before I even knew what the book was about, its title had already grabbed my attention.
It’s refreshing to see more books and articles addressing anxiety and depression from a Christian perspective. In many church communities, these mental health struggles still carry a stigma—often leading to hidden shame that creates barriers, even between trusted friends and family.

Sarah is incredibly transparent about her battle with severe anxiety, sharing the medical, physical, and spiritual steps that helped her overcome its worst effects. She doesn’t sugarcoat her experience—how anxiety spiraled into poor health, panic attacks, and the terrifying feeling that she was losing control.
The book unfolds over 21 chapters, each tackling different aspects of anxiety: what it is, why it happens, and how to face it head-on. Sarah offers hope, showing readers how to find rest, joy, and discipline in their journey toward healing. She encourages seeking medical help and professional counseling—reminding readers that they don’t have to navigate it alone.
Throughout the book, it’s clear that Sarah “gets” the reader. She speaks from experience, guiding others through the same exhausting journey she walked, offering real hope for healing. Every success she shares ties back to what she learned in Scripture along the way.
One especially helpful chapter is written for the friends and family of someone struggling with anxiety or depression. Those suffering often find it hard to explain their experience—sometimes they don’t even realize they’re in the middle of an episode. This chapter outlines signs to watch for, steps to take, and, most importantly, what not to do or say.
While I don’t battle anxiety to the same extreme, this book is still an invaluable resource for anyone struggling with depression or other mental health challenges.
